Note: The above information is based on structures laid out in the transitional constitution. The transitional government held a constitutional referendum in December 2005 followed by elections for the presidency, National Assembly, and provincial legislatures in 2006. Joseph Kabila was inaugurated president in December 2006. Due to a scarcity of both pre and post election literature on the DRC, the above listed structures may have changed and should be checked.
